Description
Lou Xiang is a Chinese brush and ink artist who was born in Shanghai in 1955. He studied traditional brush and ink painting on rice paper, calligraphy and for a short time seal carving/making.
Lou Xiang felt constrained by the lack freedom in China and came to Australia in 1988. Xiang’s work has changed radically from the traditional Chinese landscapes he learned in China, to the expressive abstract calligraphic characters he now experiments with.
